posting for a friend, due beginning of march had to go for scan today as baby measuring small. Scanned showed baby is small so got to be scanned every week from now on & have steroid injections. Has this happened to anyone? did the baby go full term?

I had the exact same thing with my DD for no reason at all she was small.. At 31 weeks she was only measuring 27 weeks... They scanned me every week until I had her by c section at 38 weeks (she was breach) she was 5lb 12oz when she was born.. She had a few feeding problems when she was a baby and I was told she was always going to be a little bit later reaching the normal milestones.. Give or take a few extra weeks she was fine.. She's 5 now.. Still a tiny little thing but perfect.. I'm pregnant with Number 2 now and they are going to keep an eye on me.. The said something about calcification of my placenta but they couldn't determine what had caused it !! Hope everything goes ok... Rather a small baby ehWink a friend of mines baby was measuring 7 weeks big haha

I had regular scans with dd for being "off the scale small". Nct friend had regular scans as bump measured "off the scale big" - we both had v healthy dds within 3 days of due dates at same weight (hers 1oz smaller than mine). Basically, they don't really know, tell her not to worry too much. Both of ours are fine and (bizarrely!) my dd is on 95th centile for height...
