iron pills that don't make heart burn worse..?

Title says it all, really: does anyone know of any iron pills that don't make heart burn worse?

I'm taking ones by Nature's Best and have had no heart-burn this pregnancy unlike last time.

Scrap iron tablets - go for SPATONE, available from chemists, its a liquid form that you can add to orange juice/whatever.

Much better at getting the iron into your body when you need it most, and doesnt cause constipation or heartburn etc

I found I could only take pregnacare, which does have iron in it. Won't be enough if youa re aneamic though.

i second SPATONE. but dilute it with orange to help absorb quickly

Go for something which contains any of the following:

chelated iron
iron bisglycinate
gentle iron

These are all forms of iron which are generally better tolerated. Ferrous fumarate is often ok, but avoid ferrous sulphate. (Ferrous and iron are interchangeable words for the same thing.)

Thanks guys, that really helps! Am quite anaemic at seven months, and a bit fed up with the heartburn thing (seems to have started a lot earlier this time round - didn't have it so much with the first 2..)

Hi Try Floradix it is made for pregnant and breastfeeding women. It contains all you need to get your ironlevels better. It worked great for me, In The Netherlands most midwifes recommend it to pregnant women,It comes in a liquid and also as pills.

I give this to my friends when they are pregnant and they all think it is fantastic, try a healthshop, I got it last time from an online shop.
