Hi All,

Slightly fluffed more than usual now, had 12 week scan and 5cm ovarian cyst found. 3 weeks later and cyst is 7.5cm and growing. Consultant has advised surgery to remove it as they believe it is too big and will cause problems and that it will continue to grow.

Cannot be done with keyhole as the cyst is too large and she wants to avoid baby (obviously).

Has anyone else had a Laparotomy during pregnancy? will be 19+5 on day of surgery...due in on the 23rd Dec and out on the 25th...good pressie for the family!

Thanks

No personal experience myself. My sister found out she was pregnant during a laparoscopy (10 weeks pregnant), when they cut into her womb they realised it was swollen and that she was pregnant. This was only last year and she lives in France, they'd assumed she couldn't conceived as she was taking medication to put her through the pseudo menopause to improve her bleeding ovarian cysts so they didn't test her prior to surgery. Anyway she went on to carry to term and I now have a 1yr old nephew. Obviously that's not the same situation as you but I hope it all works out well for you. X

My mum had this when she was pregnant with me. I turned out all right. I think it was fairly straight forward. Good luck.

Friend had one removed similar time. All good and healthy full term baby followed. Good luck
