ok here goes. i am 30 weeks pregnant and nipples have been doing normal weird preg things like getting darker and bumpier. But now I am noticing them getting very itchy and on the tips I am getting very small like crusty yellow 'sap'?!. When I remove them (very carefully) it stops the itching. what is it??? also the surrounding nipples have suddenly got a bit white flaky. I have regualr showers without soap to its not irratating/causing it. Am i just a freak or is anyone else getting this????

The crust is probably a little bit of dried colostrum, I wouldn't worry about it. If they are itchy they may just be a little dry so if you have any lansinoh (if you are planning to breastfeed) then you could rub a little on or a bit of vaseline or something may sooth the itching.

would bio oil be good or vasaline?, not intending to breast feed

I got the same thing as you from about the same time. For me the tips of my nipples almost seems to split and dry flaky stuff would come out like dried skin. After a couple of weeks of that my left boob started leaking oily stuff which turned into colostrum. I now where a bra with pads in at night coz I'm so leaky, one sided as well, very attractive Smile.

Try creams and oils to help the itching but you may find this stops once the holes have opened. Do whatever you need to to stay comfy. Hope it improves for you. X

I've had exactly the same thing since like, week 20 - I think they are just practising, and i hope it means i'm going to be a good milker! Vaseline is good for the itching, as well as just keeping them clean (no irritants though!)
