8 hour first labour.
2.5 hour 2nd labour, but was still looking after DD1 until less than 1 hour before she slithered out (no pushing, went for a poo and out came a baby).

So I'd say, much quicker and far less painful.

My first was classed at 2hrs............. eek

not an ideal candidate forhome birth as i had pph after dds labour... due to placenta delay

I think, generally speaking, that is the expected pattern.

And I fit it!

My first labour birth was 5hours 15mins from start to finish, my second 1hour 40mins.

My third wasn't until over 12 years later and again was around 1hour 40 mins.

You're just going to have to get yourself to the hospital quick-smart as soon as you think things are starting! Even if that means a couple of false starts...after all, you wouldn't want DC1 acting as midwife, would you? Grin

1st - 2 hours
2nd - 15 mins

1st about 9 hours start to finish. Ds arrived yesterday morning at 10 to 8 after waking up with mild period like cramps at about 4ish the same morning! So 2nd around 4 hours :)

I'm shitting bricks quite worried about this, currently pg with dc2, 1st labour was 3 1/2 hours from first twinge, only at hospital for 30 mins before ds arrived thanks to evil midwife not believing me! I'm hoping for hb this time so at least I know I won't be giving birth in the car but am scared they won't believe me again and I'll have no mw or gas and air

So many people tell me how lucky I am to have had such a fast labour but it was fucking scary and so intense!
