Would the rude posters be calling this woman an idiot if she was not in her early 20's?
Xmas Hmm

saucykellie1989 · 10/12/2011 22:13

probably not...i only wanted advice,im not the only person in the world 2 have done it

I'm in my early 20s and I still think she 's behaved recklessly and stupidly.

LalasMama · 10/12/2011 22:14

OP ignore the rude posters. A midwife actually advised me to take castor oil (only a small amount though). Im not sure how much youve taken but keep drinking plenty of water and keep an eye on baby's movements. If youre worried then call your midwife.
Hope it all goes well Xmas Smile

JambalayaWarmMincePie · 10/12/2011 22:16

Idiot, and stupid. How nice. Hmm

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 10/12/2011 22:16

She has made a mistake, which I am sure alot of people have with all the old wives tales that are thrown at you when you are near your due date have!
I think a simple, get checked out would be much more helpful than a derogatory comment tbh!

saucykellie1989 · 10/12/2011 22:16

You are risking dehydration and will have no energy to labour if it does come on. Apparently it is more likely to work if you are actually overdue. Be careful.

Dee03 · 10/12/2011 22:25

I tried the same with my 3rd 9 years ago!
I just had a few pains for a few hours, I dilated 1cm then it all stopped...my midwife suggested paracetomol and to get a good nights sleep (it was evening)...I then went into proper labour 4 days later Smile
Try not to worry but I would phone your midwife if it doesn't settle down
Take care xx

yes it worked for me. I was 39 weeks. I took it with some orange juice, had poops for an hour or so and had some cramping pains for a few hours. They went away and took some more (the same amount as before) and DD was born 12 hours later.

saucykellie1989 · 10/12/2011 22:31

omg get off my page with ur stupid comments.i was advised 2 take no more than 2oz as im favourable to go into labour! just wanted advice, anyone else that wants to come up with their idiotic comments keep ur opinions to urself.thank you

FFs if you have nothing constructive to post then why not post on another thread, slagging someone off for something they have already done is just pointless and rude. The OPs age and number of previous children are no-ones business.
OP agree with some others, if you are concerned then phone the labour ward and be honest with them. Good Luck.

Crosshair · 10/12/2011 22:57

really?

CumpyGruntWithJinglyBellsOn · 10/12/2011 22:58

I agree with usual.

saucykellie1989 · 10/12/2011 22:59

whos full of shit? and why?

OP posts:
Solo · 10/12/2011 23:07

My cousin did this with her 4th too and it was fine and did work. Good luck OP, and do drink plenty of fluids.

pinkyp · 10/12/2011 23:19

I didn't know op was in her 20's, not relevant. In my opinion why would anyone go 40weeks then do something so daft as to drink caster oil? Why not wait 12days and keep you and your baby safe. We all get inpatient.

justabigdisco · 10/12/2011 23:47

what is so bad about castor oil?

jaquelinehyde · 11/12/2011 00:01

Just because it is something that used to be advised and someone knows someone who's aunties, friends, hairdressers neighbour once did this does not make it a great thing to do.

Taking something guaranteed to make you sick and give you the runs leaving you lacking energy and dehydrated at this stage in pregnancy is just stupid. Now on top of everything you have shooting pains that you have stated are not contractions. Well done, good job, keep up the good work.

I hope you have managed to get some rest and the pains have gone, do drink lots of water and don't waste any more energy with shit like this, with 3 at home and labour to go through you need to be conserving energy like mad.
