... because I received a letter today saying the risk was low for Down's for me, but it doesn't say anything about the Spina Bifida. I'm sure with dd2 both conditions were covered in the same letter. So does that mean bad news now? Am very worried at the moment. Have phoned the number on the letter, they said they would call back, but I was wondering if any of you had any words of wisdom.

if you had a problem with results you would be contacted urgently by phone via your gp - I was with mine - although mine wasn't even particularly high ridk (something like 1/200).

I think you should be fine.

When I was given a high risk I was contacted directly by the midwives at the hospital. You would know if there was a problem.

Hi emkana,

Can only echo what everyone else has said. If there was a problem you would have heard by now as usually the lab acts on the results rapidly where there's a high risk result(I used to be a midwife so remember this). This means that if there is an increased risk of spina bifida or Downs, however, small that you'd get the results ahead of normal time - if you haven't heard I'd say that it's obviously fine.

Hope that helps a bit

Mandy
