Hi MNs, I'm not sure this post belongs here but this is where I "spent" most of my pregnancy and feels familiar :) My little girl turns six weeks tomorrow and I just wanted to thank everyone here for all the great advice and support and laughs throughout those past few months and of course some words of wisdom hehehehe (now that I am more experienced Xmas Wink, looking back at all my worries/questions pre-baby:

  1. baby monitor - still in the box! baby sleeps in crib next to our bed or occasionally co-sleeps (now less than in first 3 weeks but we have some "fussy" nights) - maybe I'll get some use of it when she's older an din her own room?!
  2. co-sleeping - something I thought I would never do! But with a large enough bed and daddy willing to sleep on the sofa (poor DH) I am comfortable doing it and love it!
  3. top'n'tail bowl (have a great cheap one from Ikea that attaches to changing table and is used at every nappy change - still on cotton wool and warm water), changing table, nappy bag, carrycot/travel system - can't live without them!
  4. sling - can't get into it :( prefer to hold baby or use pram, will try baby bjorn when I am able to (had a c-section in the end so still not able to use it)
  5. long sleeved vest over short sleeved vest - works absolutely fine just add leggings + socks and cardi and baby is dressed! (hmmm I remember starting a thread about this - not sure why I was so worried?!
  6. breastfeeding - easy peasy and pain free (yes, I have been extremely lucky in this dep but after a horrendous labour I feel I deserve it Xmas Sad it can get overwhelming when you're stuck for hours on end on the sofa but I enjoy it and she is now smiling at me while she feeds which makes it even more enjoyable :)
  7. Newborn sizing - almost everything I had was too big! She only just started outgrowing the really tiny stuff :)

Aside from all that - it's great! After all the sleep deprivation, we're coming out of the haze and life is good - looking forward to our first Christmas as a family Xmas Grin and will no doubt be back on MN for all baby related queries!! x
