What is everyone else doing with the whole champagne & wine at Christmas? Will I really be a bad person if I have a glass of champagne with my husband on christmas day? I'm not going to get drunk but watching all these christmas program's is really making me realise that a wee drink is really part of the whole thing!! I'm 27 weeks now so I'm in my 3rd trimester.... just!!

Well the NHS guidelines recommend limiting intake to 1 - 2 units once or twice a week so...

Personally I would have a glass (though hoping to have given birth by then!)

Have a guilt free glass and enjoy yourself. :)

Really, a glass of wine won't do you any harm, how could it? If the liver processes it there is hardly any in your bloodstream. It's only if you have too much to process, that's when you get drunk, then there might be a little that gets in through your placenta, so just go easy and you'll be fine!

I've been having my 1-2 units twice a week all through, relax and don't worry about it!

I would limit to small glass of champagne twice a week (2 x 2 units) or two small spritzers (same units)

Have started measuring my alcohol with a measuring jug (third trimester) and so surprised at how little alcohol is a unit... Smile

It will be fine. From 20 weeks ish with my DS I had a small glass of red wine every day with supper. He is fine !

Just drink it! I really enjoy my weekly (or sometimes twice weekly) small glass of wine or champagne.

I have a glass or two a week, Christmas will be no different.

The guidelines say 'NO ALCOHOL!' because pregnant women cannot be trusted to be sensible and not drink large amounts of alcohol on a regular basis, you see.
