desperate unknown craving

I've had this in my last pregnancy too: This feeling of passionately, rampantly craving something - an overwhelming feeling that I can't ignore - the kind that makes you go 'grrrrrrrrrrrr I have to have it now'...but I've no idea what it's for. I don't even know if it's a food. I don't think it's sex. It's driving me mad cos I can't satiate it if I don't know what I'm craving! Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what it could be, or am I just a weirdo?

Candy floss. That was mine. Nothing to do with the sugar or taste, all to do with how it felt on my teeth!

How frustrating!

DizzyKipper · 08/12/2011 11:32

That sounds like it must be very frustrating! It is possible to try and work out the craving by comparing with other things, like hot or sold for something sweet/sour etc? Hope you can work it out soon Xmas Smile

Simple - eat EVERYTHING! Xmas Grin

a friend of mine had a craving but in the same way couldnt call it a craving, but it was all about strong smells or radox and fumes from paint, and was taking loads of showers just to smell radox. It was the only thing that satisfied the notion, but she couldnt pin point a craving

BeeBread · 08/12/2011 16:16

Are you fidgety? I get incredibly fidgety and restless legs, and have problems sleeping. It's not so much that I am craving something specific but that I can't settle down.

madmomma · 08/12/2011 21:43

Aww thanks everyone. I'm pretty sure now that it's not a food thing. Maybe I'm craving giving birth, if that doesn't sound too obvious. Maybe I'm just craving the baby? Really got no idea. Not fidgety Bee. Just feel like I almost want to push, even though I'm nowhere near labour (I always go to 42 weeks)

right now I'm just sick of my cooking, desperately craving my mum's. Or am I just being a lazy bugger?

effingwotsits · 08/12/2011 22:55

When I got that feeling I steered to drink a bottle if fizzy water and my craving kind if fit around that. 2 years on and u still have to have a crate in the house Confused

SpanglyGiraffe · 08/12/2011 23:01

I felt like that for a few months, until i found out it was drinking water from bath sponges. As soon as i found out that's what it was, i couldn't get enough of sponges! I couldnt walk past Boots without having to go in and buy one. Xmas Grin

MiauMau · 09/12/2011 10:51
