Hi,

I know they say you can have this between 11w to 13+6w but I was wondering if there was an optimum time within this to have the nuchal fold measured?

Thanks

I don't believe so - it's whenever they can fit you in with the scan etc.

I think it's called a 12 week scan for good reason! Although perhaps they prefer to do it as close to 12 weeks as possible so that if your dates are out by up to a week, you are still well within the time frame.

The actual NT measurement is put into a calculation along with the CRL of the baby. So obviously the later you have your scan, the higher the NT might be, but that doesn't matter because they take that into account.

I would say arrange scan for between 12 and 13 weeks.
