I am a week and a day overdue with my first baby and really hoping to stick to my plans of having a waterbirth at home. So far, I've been really laid back, but I'm getting worried that I might miss out on my chances if it doesn't put in an appearance soon. The consultant says that after this coming Thursday he will want me to go in twice a week for monitoring (I will be 41 + 5 days). My MW says she will not be so happy to do a home delivery if I go over 42+3 or 4.

The baby seems to have dropped a lot more and I now feel quite uncomfortable, in a way that I haven't up to now. The last two days, in the morning when I've gone to the loo, I've had a bit of cream coloured mucus. Could this be a show or would it be more likely to come out in one lump with a bit of blood? I feel fine and my BP and urine have always been fine. I've had on and off crampy pains in the lower part of my tummy but nothing that lasts...might this be the onset of labour or am I just getting my hopes up?

I think it is usually a bit blood stained and like a "plug". hang on in there - baby won't be in there forever.

small amount of blood or brownish discharge.
Good luck shiny, maybe it is a sign that things are starting to happen.

mine was like when you have a really really bad cold and you blow your nose, but with a bit of blood aswell. sorry, i know thats gross.

mine was just mucus really... no blood/brown. had it on and off for 2 days, last little bit at about 2pm, went into labour at 4.45pm with cramps - things really got going and regular at about 6pm, had Becky at 12.15am

I was due to be induced on Monday and monitored over weekend as I had reduced movements with my D. Was allowed home for a few hours to pack hospital bag etc and get myself together, went to the loo and had a huge blob of clear jelly with a little blood, rather like a very firm clear egg white with blood streaks... had a bath and went into labour that Friday when I was going to be induced on Monday!
You will know if you have a show.
