Kicking questions

Hiya I'm 19 weeks 4 days pregnant with a little baby boy :)
Iv been waiting and waiting to feel a little kick & on saturday I think I felt it. Just felt like a little poke - 3 a actually in my lower abdomen! The next time I felt it was yesterday quite often throughout the day. Are these finally kicks? Or do I have wind lol they didnt feel as strong as I imaged, my partners answer was - shall I kick you and see if it feels similar!!! Yes because I'm sure being kicked with a size 12 foot will feel the same as a baby with a foot smaller than his baby toe!

Question 2: how often should I be feeling kicks? Do they take a while to kick in as it were - or could I just be missing them?

Thanks xxx

At 19+4 most people don't feel them very often. I know that at that stage this time round I only felt movement when I lay on the sofa for ages in the evening. The first movements (I think) feel a bit like popcorn popping, and they'll be happening all through the day and night, but you won't notice most of them.

Now I'm 23w and in the last week have started noticing the movements in the daytime, and DC2 has the same nightly-hiccuping-as-I-go-to-bed routine that DD had.

Mine started off at a poke as well i was told it would feel like popcorn or a goldfish darting but just felt like someone poking me from the inside really gently :)

Try not to get to hung up on movements i think all the talk of what baby should be doing makes you paranoid if your bubs not doing it, i'm 33 weeks and still no pattern he just kicks whenever he feels like it.

Wait until your a bit further along and the kicks will make you fall off the sofa :o

Mine have only been really discernable for about three weeks, and I'm going on 25 weeks (have an anterior placenta, which cushions the kicks to an extent). There's no particular pattern that I can discern, and lots of different types of movement, from things that could feel like wind, little squirms, and very full-on kicks (and possible hand-wavings - there are definitely times when I've been beng kicked simultaneously by more than two limbs - like he's doing star-jumps or something in there!) I think I can also discern something that's either headbutting or the baby bumping me with his little butt, because it doesn't feel like limbs...

hardcheese i bet it is head or butt butting i used to get feelings like that now at 33 weeks when i feel a headbutt you can actually see the head popping up too!

I was just about to start a thread about this. I'm 19 weeks and feel little tickles or pops now and again, was worried as not felt as many today so also wondered how often I should feel them. Thanks for your help
