Hi everyone, any advice would be much appreciated!!!

I am 24 weeks today with baby number 3, and my back is killing me at the bottom. Had this pain 2 weeks ago with a few tightenings (like braxton hicks) but it passed after a few days and the hosp checkng us over who said it was prob stretching.
Anyway havnt had this before and paracetemol is only taking the edge off it...has anyone else had this backache this early on ??!!
Thanks lucy xx

If paracetamol hasn't worked, ring MW this evening and see what they say. Probably 'just' backache, but UTIs, SPD, allsorts can present with backache too...they can be the ones to tell you everything's fine! Will put your mind at ease.

Hi Lucy, with DS I had lower back ache very early on for a while (13 weeks-ish) which went away and then returned with a vengeance at about 5/6 months before going away again. It was very painful, although a hot water bottle and baths did help. Being in a car or sitting down lots made it worse. I am now 25 weeks pg with DS2 and starting to get aches there again. Last time round they told me it was probably due to ligaments softening plus my posture changing due to the bump/extra weight.

Thanks girls, I'm going to see the GP tmrw have decided its a quicker option than the MW route!! Il try a warm bath tonite and see if that eases it too! I just hope its not here to stay as I was nearly in tears earlier!!

Oh the joys of pregnancy again :)) xx will let you know how i get on x
