Good morning everyone!

Just a quick question. When i had my 20 week scan i was told the head was down bellow and the legs were above my belly button! The problem is i have felt movement all on my left side low down and nothing above my belly button! Which i am starting to worry as if the legs are up high then why havnt i felt anything there??? Plus the movement is always in the same place!
This is my second and my first was like a gymnast sommersaulting and hiccuping and wriggling all over the place!
This pregnancy has been completely different so i dont like to compare really as each bubba is different!
Can anyone help and is the movement normal???? xxxxx

Disclaimer - I'm not an expert!

But, with DD1 I hardly felt ANYTHING. Thank goodness we lived abroad and I had scans every month (and every 2 weeks latterly) and that I was clueless otherwise I would have needed even more scans.

Now with DS (am 36 weeks) I have realised what having a baby that kicks is actually all about! Amazing. Anyway, I've pretty much only felt him kicking right at the top of my stomach, I thought this must be his feet but apparently he's breach and I'm off for a scan and to have him turned in a few minutes. So, I wouldn't worry too much although you could mention to your midwife at the next appointment.

They could have moved - there's plenty of room (happened to me - DD was head down then breech then all sorts before birth). So don't worry too much about the location. Also your placenta will make it hard to feel some movements. And if baby is facing outwards or inwards, you might not feel everything.

Movements with DD were different with DS - and the timings were different. DD was more active at night when I was asleep whereas DS was a day dancer Grin

Did they tell you/write on your notes where your placenta is? There's a good chance it's written on your notes.
If it's anterior, LO could be bashing you and you just won't feel it. Mine seems to be anterior and around my belly button. Even now (34wks) I can see movement there, but not feel very much.
My LO was on her head at 20wks and I felt most movements at the side. It was like she was doing some kind of pike-dive, so her legs were on the right for me, and that's where I felt kicking, really very far right.
Still plenty of space in there and time for your bean to jig about.
BUT if concered, please keep going and getting checked. It's not worth the stress.
I also found keeping a 3hrly monitor on movements helpful, I got a kick counter and a little note book and record every 3h from 1700 every day (with a decent sleep gap). Made me realise I was feeling more than I thought.

Excellent! Grin
Don't hesitste in calling your MW if you're ever worried about a reduction/sudden increase in movements though. You're better off feelign like a prat than worrying yourself.

Deffinately! My other half was telling me i was worrying about nothing lol, but i spose once you get something in your head its hard to budge lol! =)
