I'm 37+5 and I've felt that a few times but it's never lasted very long. I felt a grating against my right hip a couple of weeks back (the baby was head down on my lefthand side prior to that) and ever since then, I've had period type cramps and backache a few times a day and the occasional heavy/dropping feeling, always shocks me when it happens when I'm on the toilet lol. I think my body is getting ready but you're a bit further on, perhaps your body is even more ready?

HI
Suspect things are imiment.

I had the continuous heavy, crampy feeling when I was about to go into labour. I was convinced it was my SPD playing up as it was continous.

Between 2-6pm had this feeling, by 6 had contractions every 5mins. First exam showed head to be low and membranes bulging and 4cm by 9pm.

Goodluck!

A thread last week where the OP felt heavy downstairs and had a 'bulging' sensation ended with TWO posters giving birth :)

Sounds like things may be getting ready to go for you!
