So. 33+5wks. DC1.
Issue 1 (or may all be combined to me being crazy or something):
Discharge. It's like there's 2 compnents, a 'usual' consistency but slightly yellow (like what you would a paint sample of "a hint of lemon"). And there's sometimes a watery bit too. Not happenig when I'm sneezing, and it doens't seem like wee as it doesn't smell like wee and at the mo my wee is def. yellow (multi-vit). But I can feel it leak ("rush" is too grand a word) out and that also doesn't feel like wee. Discharge maybe smells slightly vingeary - nothing "fishy".

Issue 2 - just how much weight gain is "excessive sudden weight gain"...?
I've not put on ANY weight so far during pg. And was still down on pre-pg weight last Thurs. Now I'm about 3lb up...(so only about 2lb up on pre-pg). Scales said 6lb up lastnight, but decided to re-weigh this morning, so think maybe scales were on a tilt of something.

Only other relevent stuff:
*headaches with flashing lights on and off - diagnosed as a "mild migraine" (very mild compared to pre-pg migraines, no other aura - tingles, speech loss, r/s weakness that I usually get), but they can come and go throughout the day.
*was in hospital err, 2 Saturdays ago for about 5 days with a UTI, and then codeine assosiated constipation (history of IBS) and contractions. On lactulose 3x a day.

Am I just mental in not sleeping very well and having dreams about HELLP thinking something's afoot? (Yes, ok I am) Or should I be reporting this lot sooner than Wed (34wks scheduled MW visit)?

Hi, I think at the very least you need to be calling your MW today. Flashing lights are a sign of pre eclampsia and the gushy discharge could be your waters. These things could also be quite easily nothing but it is best to be checked.
The weight is fine I wouldn't worry, for some that is just the way it goes. Go and get checked especially as you were having contractions 2 weeks ago!

How long has the watery discharge being gushing? And is your baby moving well?

Xmasbaby11 · 05/12/2011 10:27

As above - flashing lights can be pre eclampsia. Phone mw immediately.

Mulledbee · 05/12/2011 10:39

I think the weight issue isn't something to worry about. I'd only put on 10lbs between weeks 10 and 33 and suddenly I've gained an extra 4lbs in two weeks. I was told that baby is basically putting on weight and will gain in growth spurts.

The other issues I'm not sure about but think you could err on the side of caution and get checked.

OK, so rang MW, who made me ring triage, who now want to check for sure that my waters aren't leaking...off to Stepping Hill I go...
MIL's taking me so DH can deal with JL delivery (ALL my nursery stuff) and maybe try and do a bit more work.
LO's been moving fine BTW. She has a couple of very bashy days followed by a quiet couple. As for flashng lights, it was the maternity team that diagnosed migraine (I did the mild bit as frankly, they are). Had 5 pre-eclampsia checks so far and no sign... They seemed unbothered by the flashing lights on the phone.
I'm sure it'll be nowt again...just need a shovel for all the snow now.

I have this vinegary smelling discharge too (yuck) but no gushing... hadn't worried about it before now as just assumed it was normal Blush

Oeisha · 05/12/2011 12:06

Probably is...
I think they're worried about the leaking, not the rest.
Only problem being snow (and a lack of gritting) have caused accidents in town, so I can't get out of town to get to Stockport...
...local MWLU won't do a speculum on me as "33wks is too early" so just won't see me...

If you can't go to the Hospital you need to call them and say, prepare for an overnight stay as if your waters have gone you might be kept in, you need to go though as you are at risk for infection. With PE there are usually other symptoms too, not just headaches.
Good luck, you do need to go get checked out as a priority.

Oeisha · 05/12/2011 13:34

Been to MWLU - it's literally 5mins walk away - (after triage nagged them a bit) and they took BP, urine and briefly listened to MissyFace on a doppler. I did a low swab (though swab won't be back til Fri). All seems ok. As I said, I'm no worse than yesterday and feel 100% fine bar headache with lights and discharge. As it's so little fluid we've agreed to monitor my temp, fluids out (so to speak) and have me rest and up my fluids. Any change and I'm to go to triage.
Snow's due to get a lot worse here...and still no sign of gritters etc...
..at least we'll be in if the John Lewis van can make it!

hiya, with DS my waters very slowly leaked. You can tell it's waters if you get a kind of pooling sensation that leaks out when you move...i got this when i woke in the night and rolled over. The MWs said it was excessive vaginal discharge Hmm at the time but i knew. As long as it is clear or even pink tinged it is ok (although you are already aware of the risk of infection). It also smelt sweet if that helps.
Two days after it started they started trickling and turned yellow - merconium!! he was born hours later via induction as he was in distress.
So keep your eye on it!!

Oeisha · 05/12/2011 21:39

I'm def. keeping an eye. Not checked my pants so much since the early bleeding!
Thank you guys!

OK, so I'm awake...friggin insomnia...and having weighed myself again (before I went to bed) I'm now even heavier and everything's nagging at me thanks to the ungodly hour I'm awake.
I know, not much I can do right now and I'm seeing MW at 10, so I can ask her...but seriously. Nearly 8lb in less than a week, having previously consistently not gained at all. No sign of belly being very stretched. No signs of the pain I had thanks to the constipation I had thanks to codeine. I am regularly taking lactulose (10ml 3x a day), but don't seem to be going very muc, so it could just still be my bowels I guess.
I don't feel swollen anywhere and the headaches I've been getting aren't that bad at the moment. BP was fine on Monday when I went on for the discharge check (it's about all they would do). No upper-bump/liver pain, just a slight increase in indigestion.
I also don't want to sound like a lunatic when I talk to MW and mention PE.
Any ideas?

Don't worry about sounding like a lunatic. The MW will have seen worried women countless times before. If you're at all concerned about having PE symptoms then its really important that you're thoroughly checked out and then monitored. Hope it all goes well tomorrow Smile
