I had this, think it was ds's head pressing on my cervix. Had it probably for last week before labour. Finger crossed you don't have long to go now!

Someone had this recently on here (thurs??) and it was their waters - they broke and we had a live birth thread Grin

I would suggest calling MW and getting some advice. also would suggest not going out anywhere tonight just incase. Good luck x

Have you rung your midwife? hows things going now? had any cramping pains?

Pains down there though - i seem to remember having that maybe 2/3 days before labour and was DDs head getting really low - she was fully engaged at this point. So it could be that, or could just be things getting ready to get started. Dont worry though - all sorts of aches and pains are normal esp. when you're 39 weeks Xmas Smile

I've felt like this for a week or so but am only 36 weeks. It's really noticeable when I stand up and the whole thing just drops. Very unnerving.

Gwendoline does it seem as though your bump is lower? Like you can see more of your belly button when you look down than you could before? Thats the baby getting into the right position, often referred to as the baby "dropping". With first babies it can begin to "drop" from 36 wks. You will feel increased pressure down there as baby's head begins to push against the cervix etc. Its a good sign!! means your LOk knows what he/she needs to be doing. Xmas Smile

Also 36 weeks and getting the occasional weird 'ahh its coming out of my business box' feeling. :)

It does feel like its dropped but this is dc2 and I thought thy didn't happen till later with subsequent babies. I do wonder sometimes if I'll look down and see her head poking out [I should be so lucky emoticon]
