Booking appointments--when did you get a letter telling you the date?

I am getting v annoyed. The GP sent the referral to the midwives team in my area nearly 3 weeks ago, and I've had NOTHING. I left two messages last week, no one responds. Since they insist on going by LMP, they think I am 8+3 as of today. Shouldn't I have at least had an appointment letter by now?

I'm not saying I expected to have the booking appointment this coming week, but you'd think I would at least know when it is! Some women on my antenatal thread already have their scan dates in early January.

I am really starting to get paranoid that I am being purposely ignored because I asked specifically not to see a certain midwife who was absolutely awful to me during my last pregnancy 3 years ago. On our very first meeting, she suggested I have a termination, and it didn't get much more positive from there. I used to feel sick when I had to go see her, and finally requested a change at 30 weeks.

So is this normal? Is anyone else in the same situation? Referred quite early on, but still no letter at past 8 weeks?

Took about 4 weeks till a got a letter saying my booking in appointment would be the following week

Went to the gp at 6 weeks, got my booking appointment by phone at 11 weeks. My notes had been lost between hospitals so it took abit longer than normal.

ok, maybe more patience and less paranoia are in order Blush

Here you dont see the Gp. You phone the surgery and ask to book in with the midwife. Can't you go to the mw direct?

It's not unusual to combine the booking apointment with your 12wks scan and bloods appointment...though I had my booking fairly early (7wks) as I had early bleeding. I booked mine with the MW through my GP surgery (they hold clinics there twice a week), also have a MWLU in the area, so they're often there too. Ring GP surgery and ask them what they think should have happened!

I had my booking, scan and bloods last week at 10+3. Was notified of the appointment 4 weeks before the appointment which was almost 2 weeks after GP made the referral.

Here you can do it one of two ways. Either you go in to the GP, the secretary takes some details and writes up a referral letter for the GP to send (this is what I did), or apparently you can go to the pct and ask for a self referral form. I didn't know about this second option until a friend who is a bit further along told me that's what she'd done. (and she got booked in around 9-10 weeks)

I did ring the GP's office and they told me the referral had been faxed over on 15th November.

Maybe it's because it's not a first pregnancy? I've dug around and found the booking appointment letter from my first pregnancy (which ended in MC so I never went). It was for 9 weeks exactly, and I remember it arrived before I miscarried, so I was less than 7 weeks when it came.

Can't find the one for the booking appointment I actually did go to for my 2nd pregnancy, but I remember it being similar in that I knew well in advance when the appointment was and there was a big gap between that and the 12 week scan.
