Not felt baby move all day

Hi, I'm 24 weeks and for the past 4 weeks or so, baby has been very active, especially over the past fortnight. I have not felt baby move all day today and I am starting to panic. Should I call the hospital? Which department? Is the community midwife team open to calls at this time of night?

You get in the car or taxi and walk into your nearest labour ward. They will be happy to see you, monitor you and keep you there as long as required. Do it now. I did it. I think it saved my baby's life.

Phone the delivery unit NOW.

out of hours there is usually a bleep holder midwife. If in doubt phone the delivery unit.

good luck.

Someone will be along shortly to tell you which department but yes, please call someone - just set your mind at rest

Dillydollydaydream · 01/12/2011 22:52

If you are concerned call your hospitals labour ward for advice. If you don't have their number just call the main hospital no, they'll put you through.
Hopefully all is ok

JennyPiccolo · 01/12/2011 22:53

You should call the hospital, i cant remember which department though. There are numbers in your handheld notes at the back. Doesnt matter what time of day or night. Hope everything's okay for you x

Northernlurker · 01/12/2011 22:55

I hope you have now rung the labour ward. That's what you need to do.

Thank you all so much for all your lovely words, I just wanted to let you know that everything is ok. I have never felt so relieved. Midwife couldn't find the heartbeat and asked for the doctor to do an ultrasound scan, baby was wriggling around happily and was behind the placenta! I really love minute, what a brilliant source of support.

So glad that all is well, my heart was in my throat the whole time thinking about you. I am 28 weeks pregnant and know how scary not feeling movement can be x

serpentina · 02/12/2011 00:23

Thank god

Northernlurker · 02/12/2011 08:10

Oh I'm so pleased Grin I did think at your stage it could well be positional but there's just no telling and the thing to do is to proceed directly to hospital and get checked. Don't hesitate to go back if you're worried again.

AnotherBloominChristmastance · 02/12/2011 08:26
