I'm 14 weeks, 15 on Friday. Baby no 2.

On and off today, I've been feeling really odd. It's like a cross between a stomach bug and bump weirdness. When it happens, I feel out-of-sorts, dull pain that could be bump or could be trapped wind, but which I haven't been able to relieve with toilet action! It hasn't brought me to a standstill, but it's similar to the sort of pain you get with diarrhea (sorry, can never spell that). Except it's not that and it comes and goes! Bump also feels tighter when it happens.

I'm repeating myself, but I don't know how to explain it properly.

The only midwife number is an emergency 24-hour phone number and I don't know whether to call.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

They're not BH, it's your uterus expanding/shifting around. I had them in this PG too (my 2nd) and it is really bizzare! They stopped quite soon.

When do you next see your MW? Is always worth chatting about anything you're concerned about.

when i had a scan at 14 weeks the sonographer pointed out a big lump in my uterus and told me it was the muscle contracting as i was having a bh. I had no idea you could have them that early but she said it was normal to and not to worry.

Thanks... I'm almost sure it's nothing to worry about and really reluctant to call the emergency number, everything seems to happening early this time. Going to try to sit still for a little while!!

I had something which sounds the same. As about 12 weeks!kept me up all night and felt like contractions, also my 2nd pregnancy

I was getting really strong braxton hicks at 15-16 weeks with this pregnancy (my second, and it's twins). I went to see the midwife, at a drop-in session, as it was very exertion related- my bump could be touched from the outside as feeling tight and I was aware of the uncomfortable tightness. She wasn't worried, but as I had had some spotting too I had a scan then- as they can't find two heartbeats on a doppler with twins reliably, ever, and certainly not at 16 weeks. Everything absolutely fine, and my 20 week scan is tomorrow about which I'm totally over-worried

See how you feel, but don't worry if you need to ring the midwife, they can advise over the phone, and reassurance is a great comfort (not that I think you have a problem, but mn is not the same as speaking to your midwife!)

Thank you :)

I took it easy last night and it eased off; all is fine today.

This baby is such a wriggler - it's strange how much earlier everything seems to happen this time!
