Iam 17+5 with my fourth dc (6th pg as have also had 2 mc) I am so worried as i have had such bad cramps the whole time so far and although nobody can find anything wrong i still am terrified.

It feels a lot like period pains and heaviness although if i have walked a lot it progresses to sharp pains that almost feel like electric shocks. Ihave had lots of scans and the baby has been ok, placenta ok (anterior) and cervix long and closed. At a couple of the scans they said they could see that i was having braxton hicks contractions which looked like a big lump in the middle of my uterus-apparently it was a lump of uterine wall that would go down once the bh had finished.

I have had 3 cs so am wondering if it could be stretching or scar tissue ? i also had placenta accreta with my second pg and they have told me that iam at risk of it again as the placenta is positioned over the scar again so maybe it is that ?

I really dont know what to do, everyday iam in pain and iam terrified i might lose the baby, nobody seems to be able to find a cause for the pain which i know i should be reassured by but its still worrying me as i never felt like this with my other pgs Sad

It could be stretching.

PHONE YOUR MIDWIFE.

seriously, if you are worried about anything , you need to phone your midwife.

nickelbabe · 30/11/2011 15:42

(it doesn't matter that you've already had scans and stuff - if it's still going on, you need to talk to her)

FirstNoelle · 30/11/2011 15:43

Definitely call your midwife. there is absolutely no harm in getting this checked out again...and again and again if necessary.

Thankyou i have phoned and she had one appt left tomorrow at 12:50 so i can see her then but she said in the meantime if i have bleeding or pains get worse to go to a+e. I dont think it will get worse (fingers crossed) but something doesnt feel right but i think my gp and the epu are starting to think im just an over anxious mother and im starting to feel frustrated that they dont seem to be that bothered.

I have been ever so out of breath the last couple of days too and my morning sickness is back quite suddenly and very bad. I know pregnancies are always different but this time is so different to all my others that im really worried Sad

thanks for all the advice iam really grateful

I can understand your frustration - sometimes the medics don't realise that what's routine for them is very worrying for the patient.

tonight, (providing your pains don't get worse, of course), sit down and relax with a Brew and a Cake
and get your DP to run around after you.

LaTristesse · 30/11/2011 16:37

Could it be SPD? I've had that twice and the pain feels like I've been walking loads. Might be something else to consider maybe? I hope you manage to relax and not worry too much, but as has been said - do call your m/w immediately with anything you're worried about - and keep hassling if you know something isn't right. Good luck.

ariane5 · 30/11/2011 17:23

I did wonder about spd at first but i had it in my previous pgs and ended up with crutches, it doesnt feel the same this time its more of a 'period type pain' and occasional sharp horrible twinges which i didnt really get with the spd when pregnant before.i think im just so worried as have not felt like this before.

Thankyou nickelbabe i will try to rest later when dcs in bed and hopefully things will settle down a bit, im glad i will be seeing mw tomorrow i dont think i can carry on being in pain and so worried any longer.
