24 weeks and struggling

I know this isn't a major problem but I am really struggling with backache. A very generous Mumsnetter has given me a back support which ahs made a huge difference but I cannot stand for any length of time, walking any distance is impossible. I liked going out for a walk with ds every day but I am in so much pain when I get back, I might have to give that up, but then I am scared I am going to put loads of weight on...
Sorry for whinging. Anyone else finding this?
(I don't remember it being this bad last time until about 39 weeks>)

Hi Anna, you are not alone. I am 24 weeks too, and have suffered 3 separate incidents of severe backache during this pregnancy, although I will add I have had an on/off back problem over the last 2 years. The only thing that helps for me is physio (can work out expensive though) together with my back support girdle thing, and other people helping me out. I dread it when dh is away working and usually go to my parents so at least I have help with dd1.

Sorry can't offer any pearls of wisdom, but sincerely hope you feel better soon. Incidentally, if you become too large for your current back support belt you should be able to get one provided at your local hospital. I have been fitted up with one but was told should I 'expand' (very likely, I am huge!) just to go back and get re-fitted.
