I am 7 weeks pg, and have felt awful for the last couple of weeks, not actually being sick but just feel very nauseous from the minute i wake to the minute i go to sleep

Is it likely to get worse before it gets better? I just need to prepare myself if it is going to be more severe, roll on feeling better lol.

Mine didn't really get worse but went on for a few months. There are loads of different "remedies" which work for some and not others. I used to find drinking soda water helped the nausea.

It is awful, i love being pg but just really hate the sickness, can't remember what it feels like to feel "normal", i am feeling very sorry for myself lol, when pg with my dd the sickness didn't kick in till i was 6 weeks and left when i was 12 weeks, i just hope this subsides soon.

Ah, it'll be a boy then. I was told sickness is worse with boys.

Oh pucca, I've been there... It's different for everyone but most people are completely better by 14 weeks. Sadly I wasn't... The things that help me are...
Vitamin B6 - 50mg a day, ready salted crisps, fox's glacier mints, having some peppermint oil on a tissue to sniff, eating something before I get out of bed in the morning, eating little & often - 8 times a day instead of 3, wearing 'seaband' acupressure bands, but most of all... Acupuncture. I'm going back to the acupuncturist again next week for another session - it made more difference to me than anything else. Hope you feel better soon!

I felt sick until about 16 weeks in all three of my pgs. Absolutely nothing helped except rest. Sympathies and good luck with the pg.

With DD I felt sick all day (but never threw up) for 4 months.
With DS I felt sick all day and night, and threw up at least once a day for 4 months.

Grazing all day, minty chewing gum, inhaling grapefruit oil off a tissue, acupuncture, ginger were among the things I tried -some eased it briefly but no miracle cure I'm afraid.
Just focus on the future..it'll pass

Thanks for all the advice...I am eating constantly and i am probably going to end up being about 50 stone by the time i get to 14 weeks lol, it is just a constant feeling sick...all the time, i forgot how miserable it feels also i don't get the chance to rest much as i have dd who is 2, oh i wish i could sleep all the time, it is the only relief i get.

I should be grateful i know, i am lucky to be pg when so many women have problems and who would love to feel what i am feeling atm.

many sympathies.

I suffered horribly with all my pregnancies and am currently pg and have it again!!

IMHO nothing really helps except being asleep but you're not the only one going through it! It is ghastly isn't it?

pucca · 06/01/2006 12:25

Allco...I swear, i am not having any more, not because of any other reason than how i feel atm lol, i can do birth, sleepless nights...no problem! but this sickness...NO THANKS lol

I felt sick between weeks 6 and 10 with both pregnancies. I felt worse when carrying dd1 but was never actually sick - used to feel worse in the evenings. I found that drinking lemon and ginger tea helped and those seasick wristbands also helped.

I am now 37 weeks pregnant with dd2 - and was sure I was expecting a ds as I was sick a couple of times and felt differently IYKWIM - wrong - hence dd2!

WigWamBam · 06/01/2006 12:28

I hate to worry you but mine didn't go away at all - I was throwing up morning, noon and night right up until dd was born. I hope yours goes away soon!
