Bit worried about lack of weight gain

I'm 22+6 and weighed myself this morning (haven't done at all this preg Blush) I've been eating a lot of rubbish and thought weighing myself would give me an incentive to stop. Y'know because clearly my unborn baby isn't enough Hmm Sad.
When I weighed myself it showed that I've only put on 7lb since becoming pregnant. Now I can sort of understand because I've had 4 or 5 stomach bugs in this time but I honestly thought that everything I've eaten a LOT would have evened things out somewhat.

Should I be worried about this or is this actually a normal level of weight gain? Is it a valid reason to eat more? Baby is very active and appeared healthy and happy at the scan but I refuse to google this, it just results in fear and paranoia.
Thanks!

I wouldn't worry. I'm almost 24 weeks and have put on 8 pounds, I started at a healthy weight so I don't think it's a problem. It just means I can enjoy Christmas Wink

Should have added that they weighed me at my 12 week scan and i'd put on 8lb by that point so I've obviously lost a fair amount. I only had about 2 weeks of morning sickness too. I think the stomach bugs made up for that though.

Don't panic!

I'm 35 weeks today and since my booking in appointment I've only put on 3lbs! I've no idea of my 'before' weight as I came back from holiday (long flight from hell) with suspected DVT and serious water retention being 6 weeks pregnant.

I think I've put on (in total) 10lbs during the WHOLE pregnancy. MW said it's fine as long as baby is growing. :)

Thanks fuckity (love the name btw) I know plenty of women lose weight in the first trimester from morning sickness and i've been taking vitamin suppliments all the way through but I worry that the baby hasn't been getting the right amount of nutrients. That said at my scan at 21 weeks they said she was nearly 2lb so she can't be doing too badly.

I've got a GTT on the 3rd Jan so i'm determined to have a good xmas in case it comes back positive.

Oh crikey thats amazing Mum2be! Water retention is horrible though I had it so badly people were guessing that I was pregnant when I was 6 weeks gone :(.

I lost weight in my 2nd trimester - no morning sickness. Told GP at my 25wk appt and he didn't care (didn't even ask how much I'd lost - yeesh!). Now I'm 31 weeks and have put on weight over the last few weeks - no problems at latest mw appt and baby wriggling about loads so assume all is ok. Everyone's different. Fingers crossed it is all ok for you.

Agree - everyone's different, and it's the scans and measurements (later on) that show how the baby is growing, not the amount of weight gain.

I didn't put on any weight until 22 weeks even though I only had 2 weeks of MS and was eating tons. Now at 36 wks I've put on over a stone - not excessive but people tell me I look enormous! I think they have forgotten I was pretty large before I got pregnant!
