is this really an appropriate question to ask a pregnant woman? OK I know it is not, but why do people think it is ok to ask?
And how do you respond?
I don't think anyone asked me with dd, but so far with this one, I have been asked about four times! I really don't know what to say to them!
Any Ideas on how to deal with these people? Thanks so much!

Hiya

I've been asked this quite a lot. I find it quite funny really - it almost implies I don't perhaps know how conception works!

I think maybe the reason people ask me is because me and OH aren't married? Again, this makes me laugh as I thought the days of Downton Abbey and discraced unmarried mothers were long gone? One chap even said: "Oh how very Hebden Bridge ... " (as a reference to the percieved 'alternative' lifestyle I lead and the town I'm from!)

In response I'm always very honest, I just say, "yes - we planned it, as much as anyone can, and it happened A LOT quicker than either of us expected. Thank you."
