Have been feeling crampy and crabby for the last couple of days but today definitely a lot more 'periody' type cramps in lower back. Am 39+4, have been absolutely knackered and slept a lot in the last 48 hours and generally felt a bit crap, had regular bh/ contractions since about 10pm which are now about 6-7 mins apart, last about 45 secs to 1 min and are in my back and radiate across my bump which hardens. No diarrohea, but absolutely foul wind (sorry! Grin) twinges left right and centre and baby was really grinding last night downwards in the early hours. Not a lot of pain in the contractions at all but a definite feeling of them peaking and then flowing away.. uncomfortable, but definitely not worse than a period cramp. Feel hotter when they come as well.

Sorry that this is a bit rambly.. first baby and all that and just don't really 'know' what to expect iykwim... so any advice would be helpful! Have had loads of BH over the last couple of weeks but this definitely feels like more of a regular pattern than i have previously had. But because of those I'm half tempted to not get myself too excited (plus reckon there is no way that I could be this lucky to get there before my due date and without any sweep or induction!)

TIA! :)

Sounds like it to me Grin

My DS2 was born at 39+4

How exciting!

Sounds like BH if not painful.

I was always told by the midwife to take some pain killers and have a warm bath, if it didn't ease it was the real thing.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

I think it sounds like the start, but very early start of labour. If it isn't too painful then maybe not strong contraction yet so get some sleep while you can. Good luck

I was incredibly irritable a day or so before I went into labour, my midwife said that was a good sign.

I would call your MW and see what she says, I hope it is for your sake!
Good luck!

sounds like the start to me. With my ds2 I had loads of BH throughout and then more and more in the last few days. I remember walking round town with dh and saying wondering if it was starting as they just kept coming and where as normal BH didn't hurt me at all, these BH were becoming more painful and as you say sort of crampy. I was still able to walk round town though.... I think it will become clear if you just wait. Mine did turn into labour so yours could too! Keep timing and monitoring it but try and fill the time too as you could still have a long wait! I hope it all goes well for you though, whenever it happens!

It sounds like it, at beginning I had myn in my bk n there was a bit of pain but nothing like major pains at first. I was induced so knew what they where. Saw the metre reading on my belly go high as I had a contraction n there was little pain. But they shud develop stronger n more painful. BH probably would of worn off after a bit. Good luck! So excited for u! I can't wait for my turn again :D only 18+3
