lopsided bump

Wonder what you think I am in my second pregnancy and I am currently 17 weeks pregnant. But my bump is slightly painful and it aches on the left hand side. This side is also decidely more firm than the right hand side. Would you like me assume that the baby has set up camp in the left thereby causing my discomfit or woul you think it was something sinister.

I can feel my baby wriggling so I am prettyr sure it is comfortable and safe in there I just find that the pain is niggling me.

Other factors are a very jumpy and boisterous DS who always cuddles into my left hand side no matter what I try he just prefers it that way, probably because I am left handed so have always cuddled him on this side. Also I sleep on my left hand side, all of which leads me to believe I could be creating gravity to my left. Anyway like I say what do you think?

I didnt start getting a visible bump till 25 weeks and me n dh husband noticed that it stuck out more on my right. When I had my midwife check it turned out baby was transverse, face down n with its bum in the air. Explains the wonkyness and It's been like that for a month now

I am 17 weeks and my bump is often lopsided too, more to the left than the right, I thought it was just down to where the baby was lying but not sure.

I had this (currently 28 weeks) and had been seeing an osteopath anyway for back/pelvis issues. She 'fiddled' around and 'released' a muscle spasm in the uterus which shifted the bump and made it much more comfortable! However there is still a bias towards the left which the osteopath says is a better side for delivery. So in short - don't worry, sounds normal.

I was lopsided as you describe to the right, then when in labour all of my contractions were on the right, I'd expected they would be in the middle for some reason.

Worth calling MW to put mind at rest if you need to :)

Am 30 weeks and right side much bigger than left.. Baby seems to prefer it over there.
