I'm 20+1 and i felt my baby move for the first time on Monday night, i felt it 2 or 3 times, once on Tuesday morning then the same on Tuesday night, but i've felt nothing since and i'm starting to get worried!

I thought that once i'd feel them move i'd feel it almost every day?!

The thing is i feel like the baby has moved position, it's usually on my bladder and i'm peeing every 5 mins but i've been weeing as normal before being pregnant so it's like it's moved off somewhere into a corner so that's why i've not felt it! My mind is doing overtime now, if it was in the same position and anything had happened then surely i'd still feel the weight of it on my bladder?

The other positive is my bump deffo grew overnight on Wednesday, i came into work yesterday and my friend said LOOK AT YOUR BELLY!! Then i saw my bf last night who i didnt see on Weds as i was out and he went BLOODY HELL at the door lol

I've got my scan on Monday and i know everything is fine and i'm just being a paranoid mess but please can someone reassure me and tell me that they've felt nothing for 2 or 3 days at this stage!!

Am sure all is well but go get checked out anyway or call your midwife

Hi there, from what I've been told and my own experience I think it's really normal at 20 weeks or so. I actually went to the GP when I was about 21 weeks as I hadn't felt the baby move for more than a day and I was freaking out a bit. Sure enough, a lovely strong heartbeat was found straight away and the GP told me that the baby was trying to move away from the doppler (!) which I couldn't feel!

She said that before 24 weeks I was "very lucky" to feel movement at all and that I shouldn't expect to feel it every day. She said there's lots of room in there and the baby can get itself into a position that it's kicking into fluid or into your organs, which you can't feel yet.

The fact that your bump has grown is an excellent sign, and might also reflect the fact that baby has moved into a new position. The shape and size of my bump seems to change whether the baby is wedged down by my pelvis/bladder or seems to be sitting higher up.

My pregnancy book also says that from about 20-24 weeks you might go three or four days without feeling movement, although I still found it worrying! At 23 weeks movement is definitely more regular, but no means all the time and I've had plenty of days in the last few weeks when LO has been very quiet, only to have a good boogie the next day.

If you are worried and Monday seems too far away, give your GP or midwife a call and they should bring you in to listen to the heartbeat to give you reassurance.

HTH

Its not guaranteed that you'll feel baby every day having only just started feeling him or her. If you're nervous, do ring your mw or gp and I'm sure they'll book you in to check for a heartbeat. I first felt my DD move at about 16 weeks, a tiny fluttering, which wasn't repeated until 18 weeks and then nothing again until after my 20 week scan.

This time around I'm much more sensitive to this DC moving (am 22+1) and I can feel just how much he or she can swim about in there. I'm sure your baby is just enjoying the room to move and hide away!

Good luck with your scan!

I felt my baby move around 24 weeks and at first I felt her and then nothing for a couple of days so I shouldn't worry. Pop and see your midwife and she can double check for you to ease your worry.
