What is coming out of my breasts?!

Hello all, I'm six weeks with my first. I picked up a breastfeeding brochure today from the doctors surgery and was having a read through. It explained the procedure for expressing milk by hand.

Naturally curiousity got the better of me so I tried it just to see what the pain was like and to my utter amazement an off white liquid came out that was thicker than water but thinner than single cream! There wasn't loads but it was definitely there on both breasts!

What is this? Surely it can't be milk at 6 weeks pregnant?

Prob is, although very little nutritional value. Now don't poke them for another 30 weeks!

it is early but it sounds like colostrum to me.

Lucky you! I'm 34 weeks and signed up for a colostrum harvesting session in a couple of weeks and mine are dryer than the Sahara!

Lol I won't poke,prod or squeeze them again for another 30 weeks! It was like something out of some dodgy horror movie!!

I just wanted to see what it felt like, that'll teach me to leave well alone in the future! :o

hahaha i didnt have any during my first 3 pregnancys. and then during an... intimate moment shall we say...ahem. my dp goes what the hell is that! you taste all sweet and salty. it was a very weird moment. kind of ruined the mood leaky boobies are odd.

Lol guess that would ruin the mood a bit!! I shall be leaving them to do their own thing now!
