Twinges - 5 weeks pregnant

Am hoping you will all tell me to not be so stupid but as no-one knows I'm pregnant yet I can't ask any of my friends if this is normal or not so feeling a bit worried!

Am only 5 weeks pregnant and did the HUGEST bone rattling sneeze yesterday and got a sharp pain followed a dull stomach ache for 15 mins or so. Later when I went for a wee I had 2/3 spots of pink blood on toilet tissue but nothing since.

I have small twinges in my left hand side abdomen that I notice every now and again. Is this just normal? I;ve had them since I found out I was pg.

I had trouble conceiving and when I had a HSG in the summer the ultrasound lady said that my ovaries and womb were over to the left hand side, she said it was totally fine and then when I got pregnant it would sort itself out so am hoping this is why the twinges are on the left.

I have a docs appointment to confirm I'm pg etc etc on Thursday morning.

It's not really painful or anything, it's just enough to be noticeable today and I am just really nervous about any sort of cramps/twinges - how much is normal and when should I be concerned?

Sorry if I'm wasting your time but would really appreciate any advice!

I had what felt like horrible period pains quite a lot over the first few weeks, apparently it's completely normal.

I know exactly what you mean, a couple of weeks ago I was sneezing a lot (I think I'm allergic to pregnancy) and every time it felt like I'd bust an ovary (well OK that would probably be a lot more painful, but that sort of thing). I was a bit worried, but last week's scan showed the baby wriggling about completely fine, so it was obviously nothing to worry about.

Is this your first (it's mine)? I was so impatient that I had a 'reassurance' scan done privately at about 8 weeks, I would recommend it if you can afford it (mine was £80 and TOTALLY worth every penny), it is so reasuring to see that the baby is there and in the right place and hear it's heart beat and I had to wait another 5 weeks for my NHS one.

miko - oh, you must have been so relieved to see everything was ok!

Yes it's my first one too - am soo excited, have waited for this for so long!

We have booked a private scan on 17th December when I will be nearly 9 weeks because I couldn't stand waiting until halfway through Jan to be scanned! Plus my family will smell a rat when I turn down vino at Christmas so we're going to tell people at Christmas so wanted to have a scan before then.

It's going to be a long few weeks until then I think!

Congratulations ! I had cramps early in pregnancy with my DS, probably for a couple of weeks from 4-6 weeks. To begin with I thought they were the start of period pains but it never arrived. Am now 11 weeks with DC2, and had cramps at around 5 weeks again. It is probably implantation pain.
