Hi, just wondering if anyone can give me any reassurance on this please?

I am 18 weeks, 19 on thursday and yesterday (sunday) had a couple of incidents of black/grey spotting after I wiped. I put on a pad and didn't really think to much of it tbh and I had a 1/2 cm stain on the pad by about 7pm so in around 7 hours. Had nothing after that until around half an hour ago when I wen to the loo and wiped and another black/grey spot when I wiped, its not mucusy it is quite dry with dry bits in iyswim almost like flecks of dust.

I have just spoken to a mw at my local hospital and she has told me to see a g.p. (have an apt arranged for 4pm) just looking for some reassurance really as I am now really worried had a m/c in 2009 which started with black spotting.

Somebody please give me some reassurance as I can't stop crying.

I'm sure everything will be fine,

If the midwife thought there was more cause for concern she would have you to go to hospital and get checked out... Try and stay calm and wait and see what the doc says. I know what a worry things like that are and youve already had e bad experience but I'm sure once you've been checked out things will be much better xx

What on earth can a GP do? What about just going into labour ward to be monitored and get checked out. It is probably harmless but going in and having the baby monitored would make you feel better

I think it's just their proceadure pinky the mw said the first point of call would be the g.p. who could refer me to the day unit at the maternity hospital.

Thanks roz my dh will be home shortly to accompany me to the surgery (It's only round the corner from where we live. I've had a leisurly drive on the school run and baby is moving around which is a good sign of course. Just worried as have to work this evening as self-employed and need the money.
