Anyone else in a similar position? This is my first, I've not had a difficult pregnancy, so it could be worse, and little the 'un appears all too happy in there but WHY WON'T HE BUDGE? Seriously, I am walking 3 miles a day to get things going, but hardly get a twinge.

I was in hospital for a standard check-up yesterday, and there was a girl in there with me whose waters had just broken at 28 weeks, so I know how lucky I am really, but I still am starting to think there is something wrong with me!

I go between being cheerful and sensible (I've been good about getting out and about every day) to throwing massive weeping fits on poor OH ....waiting like this is so bizarre.

As you know I really feel for you crazyhead! After 5-6wks of signs building up to giving birth I felt like I went days over due date in the end, though baby boy came along on time! I went 10 days over with my first and was in the end induced so have also been in your position and it's sooo frustrating! It's a wierd one though cos as soon as you have baby in arms, all that you're going through now will be instantly forgotten..(though I know not much consolation at the mo!)
Chin up hun! Really won't be long now! :) Hope it all goes well when it kicks off, pls post to let us know! :)

I hear you! Am 40+4 :( don't like waiting and don't want to be induced!

I'm not doing the mammoth walks you are takes my hat off to you

I too am feeling really emotional and short tempered, hoping that's part of the being overdue package!

Same boat here! 40+4 today and narrowly avoided being induced over weeken in hosp with suspected pre eclampsia. At home again now just waiting again. I am so grumpy and irritable and short tempered. Cried yesterday because I sat in a chair in a local restaurant and was just so uncomfortable!!

COME ON BABIES WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!

blueeyedmonster · 21/11/2011 10:33

There is still time for baby to arrive before induction. I had mine booked for 40 + 12 and ds decided to arrive naturally on 40 + 11!! I was so shocked I did even twig I was in labour for 4 hours. I had resigned myself to the induction but didn't need it in the end Smile

Try reflexology - got things going for me.

crazyhead · 21/11/2011 17:23

Thanks everybody - congrats on the new arrival twogirls and sending you birthing vibes roz and gitternanny.

Blueeyedmonster and fullup, I will try not to despair. I'd thought already about giving acupuncture a go....

My due date is tomz, and i am desperate for baby to pop out.

I cant imagine what going over is like and like you all, totally fed up with being fat,and just feeling rubbish.

Everything I do is always related to a comment of my weight because i really have just bloomed so big over the past 2 weeks. I cant wear any shoes, shave my legs or paint my nails! Feel totally crap Midwife said she will see my Wednesday, I said no you wont, baby is coming on Tuesday, so am going in on Wednesday to tell her I WANT IT INDUCED NOWWWWWW!!!!

The threads above have made me feel for you ladies going over by weeks , it just does not seem fair we have to wait so long!

Rant over - sorry! :(

Secondtimelucky · 21/11/2011 17:39

Both mine were late (41+1 and 41+2) so I know how frustrating it can be. Just try and rest as much as you can in the day if it's your first (oh how I missed that with the second!) If you wait to be induced up to 42 weeks, statistically you still have a great chance that the baby will come on its own, so try to think positive.

Oh, and of course you don't have to agree to induction.

NoodieRoodie · 21/11/2011 17:43

you've still got plenty of time!

I had a sweep at 41+1 and was booked in for a second at 41+3.

I didn't need the second one as I went into labour in the early hours and had DS at 41+4, so 11 days over. That was the Thursday and the MW had wanted me induced on the Friday.

Keep up with the walking and hopefully it'll all kick off in the next day or 2
