how do you measure your bump?

MW hasn't measured it was just wondering where do you measure from and to and how much should you measure at 30 weeks?

How to measure is in my notes but I didn't quite get it. But when the me did it it felt like from the top of my pelvic bone to where my uterus stopped. Which at 25 weeks was above my bellybutton. What the measurement should be though varies from person to person based on your height and weight. In my notes is some graph that has been generated based on those stats and when I get measured it should be between these 2 lines that are on it.

The MW should be measuring you - can you ask her why not? They measure from where your bump starts (under your boobs) to where it finishes above your pubic hair line. I seem to recall it should be roughly the same amount in cm as you are in weeks (so you'd be 30cm by now) - although as melliebobs said, it will vary from person to pereson. These are rough measurements so a cm or two in either direction is generally not cause for concern.

my midwifes a bit rubbish i'm afraid i'm in and out in about 5 mins she's very busy so always seems in a rush. I've tried from under boobs to pubic bone and is 30.5 and i'm 30.5 gone so looking good.

That's outrageous, how can MW be sure her babies are growing properly if she doesn't measure? I'd ask her to do it because it is something you would need training to do properly and also hard to do it on yourself with big bump in way.

i've had 4 scans 2 normal nhs and 2 private so i'm not to worried, baby is breech and has been since at least 14 week scan so she will be having a good feel at my 32 week app to see if hes changed will get her to measure then.
