Hair falling out in early pregnancy - bad sign?

just looking for some advice - my hair usually falls out quite profusely, and one of the first signs I was pregnant was when it slowed right down. I'm only 5.5 weeks but just had a shower and my hair is falling out more than before I was pregnant. Does this herald an impending miscarriage?

Well, I suffer from alopecia areata. Where you get little bald spots and your hair falls out. Apparently pregnancy temporarily halts this condition and I SHOULD have wonderful glossy hair. Instead my hair has fallen out at the same rate and I have a tiny bald spot on the right side of my head. I asked my midwife about this, and she said, please don't worry, most ppl do indeed have better hair during pregnancy but some don't. Take good care of yourself, and take some vitamins.
I've taken it to heart and tried not to worry (stress is a major factor in alopecia areata and an impending baby is enough stress as it is!). So please don't worry about miscarriages unless you have other signs. All the very best!
(I'm nearly 30 weeks pregnant btw and my hair fall has been constant...luckily I have long hair so it isn't quite as publicly obvious).

I'm so sorry. I've been there and it's really distressing. Have you had your thyroid level checked?
