AIBU to really really want to get this baby out so I can get nasty drunk? LIke proper lampshade on my head find things down my pants that don't belong there the next day drunk?

I am 6 months pg and have a 9 month old who was breastfed. As you can imagine it has been a very sober year. :(

I feel horrible for actually caring- I'm not an alcoholic I swear. Just miss getting a pit pished.

Is this a serious question?

YANBU We all want what we can't have Grin

Heavensmells · 18/11/2011 19:56

YANBU

I'm sure that you know that your children are worth you being sober but having the urge to get shitfaced is in my opinion is quite natural sometimes as is the urge to do something you know that you can't do. Think of the hangover though with two babies, ugh enough to keep you sober Grin

Flisspaps · 18/11/2011 19:57

YANBU

I miss a brandy on a Friday with DH and a bottle of wine whenever I fancy one.

Plus side means no hangovers Wink

SausageSmuggler · 18/11/2011 19:59

Aw I don't think it's unreasonable. IME if someone says you can't have something it makes you want it even more. I don't drink much anyway but even I want a proper boozy night out.

If there seems to be a bit of a sense of humour failure here can you imagine if you had posted this in AIBU? Shock

thousandDenier · 18/11/2011 19:59

You sound quite unhappy OP - is it just a bit of escapism you're after or is there something more to it?

NoSeriously · 18/11/2011 20:00

Oh good... some people on my side :)
fliss what's the definition of a hangover? Waking up needing to puke headache and tired? Reminds me of something Grin 11 more weeks...........

i'm dyin for a good night out! actually can not wait to drink vodka after vodka hehe

justabigdisco · 18/11/2011 22:53

YA definitely NBU I feel your pain...

Meta4 · 18/11/2011 23:34

YANBU.

When I had my DD, I'd never really been into boozy nights out; but once I realised I couldn't just drop everything for one, I really craved it.

Do it and get it out of your system. But from experience, looking after small children when you've got a hangover is no laughing matter!

TeacupTempest · 19/11/2011 09:43

I definitely don't want to be throwing up in the gutter but being able to have more than 1 unit at Christmas, and without the accompanying guilt, will be bliss.

KatAndKit · 19/11/2011 10:03

YANBU I miss being able to have a few glasses of red on a Friday night. Not even getting pissed. Just having more than half a glass.

Mikocat · 19/11/2011 10:24

YANBU - just because you miss it doesn't mean you are going to do it! Get a SOH 'sanctity of pregnancy' ladies.

I know what you mean, despite being overjoyed at being pregnant and being very careful for the sake of the baby it feels like an enormous sense of responsibility sometimes, particularly when you forget for a second and eat a morsel of cheese/lick the cake bowl etc. It also seems unfair that DH can carry on doing what he likes - I wish we were penguins and could swap the egg over sometimes :)

It would be nice to cut loose and have a drink!

xkatyx · 19/11/2011 10:32

You are defenerly NBU I have a 10 month old and 32 weeks with twins and haven't had a drink not a sip since way before I fell pregnant with my 10 month old.

I miss a glass of wine just 1 would have me dancing on tables lol

Youremindmeofthebabe · 19/11/2011 11:49

YADNBU to feel this way. I would quite like a drink too, more than one. Just because I could. Especially when Christmas rolls around. Obviously me (and you too, I suspect) are not going to actually do it. So what's the harm in being a little envious?

Maybe think of the joys of hangovers and babies together in order to make you want it less though!

newmum001 · 19/11/2011 11:56

YANBU! Wanting a carefree drunken night out does not make you a bad parent! We all need to let our hair down every now and then! Why don't you set a date with your friends for after the baby's born when you think you'll feel upto it, do a bit of internet shopping for dress/handbag/shoes/accessories and then it will give you sometjing to look forward to (aside from the arrival of your beautiful new baby who I'm sure you can't wait to meet)!
