seriously i've had 4 today already, is a fifth too one too many?

Sorry, I need to vent, dh is fed up with my whinging (although he'd never admit it) i'm only 11 weeks with #1 and I'm really struggling with nausea, on and off all day every day & worse in the afternoon/early evening. Drinking has been a real problem area the last few days, thought the lollys would help keep me hydrated but now they're all I want to eat.

most things seem to give me indigestion or make the nausea worse & as we're not announcing until after the 12 wk scan & I want my mum to be the first to know i feel like I'm having to keep up appearances at work etc then I just collapse into a whining mess when I get home. I'm sure dh secretly thinks i'm hamming it up because i'm never actually sick.

Please tell me reassuring lies stories about how your sickness disappeared at week 12 never to be seen again.

Err, continued all the way through for me but milder as it went along and just turned into bizaare non-ffod cravings (I started eating toothpaste and mint shower gel at 36 weeks!!) BUT just wanted to endorse the ice lolly approach, I bought freezer pops and found it helped me enormously with sickness but also with fighting the pica. I also found chilled apples really helpful when the thought of anything else made me want to barf. You can find pure juice lollies (think they are Del Monte) which help you with your vitamins at the same time, also Mini Milk are enhanced with calcium.

Oh, and even the most fantastic DH/P just cannot understand pregnancy nausea! Good luck with it, promise it gets better.

Erm, my morning sickness eased a bit disappeared completely at about 20 12 weeks.

Ice lollies ROCK. You're probably a bit dehydrated - I made some of my own out of fresh juice and water so at least they felt a bit vitaminy!

You have my sympathies. It's just awful. I am 11 weeks today and feel exactly the same.. All day on and off, indigestion, hardly fancy anything to eat or drink.

I keep meaning to get some lollies cause I feel I'd be able to manage them. Just eat whatever you can manage. For lost people it does ease around 12-14 weeks.

This is my third pregnancy. Last time I felt like this till 16 wks, first time only from 6-8 weeksSmile Let's hope it bogs off soon!

Oh and if you fancy why don't you join us on the due in June antenatal thread for a good old moanSmile

Lost people?Hmm most people!

SilveryMoon · 17/11/2011 19:39

I spent my 1st pregnancy just craving ice-lollies.
I got really bad heart-burn too but found toothpaste helped, I carried a tube of it in my hand bag. I didn't like taking too much gaviscon.

CuppaTeaJanice · 17/11/2011 22:27

I had the same craving. They had to be Sainsburys or Tescos rocket lollies though, and I had a particular way of eating them. The craving continued throughout pregnancy, and I even ate three of them in the delivery room during labour - the midwife said that was a first!! Grin

ShockinHolyTempers · 17/11/2011 23:04

Exactly the same! I've just finished a mini Calippo. Got a box full yesterday. They really are one of my main pleasures at the moment. Strange isn't it?

Soon as this box is finished might try the Tesco rockets!

I'm almost 38 weeks and I'm still loving ice. Especially icecubes. Mmm.

casperella · 18/11/2011 20:45

Eating an ice lolly as I read... 24 weeks and the satisfying, thirst-quenchingness isn't going away. Thank goodness! Just loving Calippos and Twisters.

Superene · 18/11/2011 20:53

I ate 17 ice pops in one day. I tried every variety and def had my fave. Scooby Doo ones only if there was nothing else. Once autumn started they were like gold dust.
I hated being pg, felt absolutely awful both times. Just before dc2 was born I said to DH "I am NOT doing this again" and he said "No You Are Not".
