Hi i am 39+1 today and was at the midwife this morning and she sent me to the hospital for monitoring as babys heartbeat was up at 180bpm.

Went to the hospital and it was jumping from 170 - 180 for 40 mins she then asked me to lie on my side, i was only like this for about 10 mins and his heartbeat was back down to 150ish but kept jumping up again. She then sent us home. i am still slightly worried has anybody experienced this??

When I went for monitoring with ds2, his hb was consistently 180, with accelerations over 200.

They made me drink lots of water and over the next two hours it came down to 150's.

In short, I was dehydrated - apparently maternal dehydration can cause fetal heart rate to speed up.

Is it possible you're dehydrated?

she gave me water today as well and it didnt do anything :( i constantly drink lots so don't think its that.
