4 days to go into labour... Help me please!

I'm really hoping for some advice from MN. I am 2 days overdue and was admitted to hospital yesterday with high BP. They have prescribed medication and got it under control but want to induce me Monday if the baby hasn't arrived.

I really want to go into labour naturally. I'm not sure if I will consent to an induction without even being a week over but this is based on them saying the baby is fine which it is at the moment.

Anyway, I had a sweep and I'm 2cm dilated and she said she had done a good sweep. Certainly I could feel her fingers moving in a reasonable size circular motion (sorry if that's tmi!).

I would like to know what you think my chances of being in labour by Monday are and is there anything you would do to further help things on their way.

Based on my experience I'd say your chances are very good. To reduce your BP get in water. Any chance you could be in the bath when the MW comes? Else get your DP listening for the door and you fall asleep.
Was touch & go as it went up again when I started labouring but dropped probably 25+ points on diastolic (?) count when I got into the pool. I went from high 90s to 70.
Depends on your health of course, but if you don't turn up to be induced they won't send out a guy with a net Grin so it's STILL up to you. I refused the CMW's advice to go in over my BP while labouring so I could try being in the pool.

I had two good sweeps. At the second I was 2cm dilated. That was Saturday morning. I had strong BH on Sunday morning, which went away completely all day, started back at 8pm and MW was round by 1am. I delivered at home 8am Monday morning.

Thanks local.

I think you are right about water being beneficial but I am going to have to go to the hospital for monitoring as they don't monitor in the community. Been told to go to labour ward at 9am everyday and expect a long wait. Hardly seems conducive to good readings.

I'm hopeful after hearing you went into labour naturally though. This is what I am hoping will happen with me. I'm on meds now which have really reduced the BP.

Try a bit of clary sage oil in the bath. It could be coincidence but I think triggered contractions in my 1st labour, and a t least you can have relaxing soak otherwise. Good luck!

Thanks gina. I will get some tomorrow and give it a go although just had the worst upset tummy, a small show and some mild pain so I very much hope something is starting to happen!!
