First pregnancy - when did you feel first movement?

Hi All

I'm 19+4 and think I can feel something I can only describe as a tiny flicker in my lower abdomen. Is this the first sign of movement? When did you first feel something with your first pregnancy? When should I expect a kick? Very excited - can't wait for DH to be able to feel it too!

Yes at about the same time as you are now. And yes, what you describe does sound like the baby moving. Exciting isn't it? I always think this is the time when you really start bonding with the baby, when you feel its movements. Later, you can prod and kick each other and it feels like real communication!

I can't quite remember when someone else can feel your moevments, but definitely by about 28 weeks I would say, so not too long really. but enjoy these private kicks only you can feel as they make being pregnant all worth while.

Bang on 20 weeks and DH could also feel it at the same time.

my first 'flutter' was about 16 weeks but then had nothing for about 7-10 days, proper kick was about 22 weeks ish, DH didn't feel anything till around 26 weeks thou (if memory serves me right), and now at 31+3 he's complaining the baby kicks him in the back all night! lol.

I think everyone's differernt thou. how would u describe it to someone else?

First 'bubbling feeling' - about week 20. Definate kick that DH could feel from week 22.
Am now 30 weeks and it's kicking my ass!!

Literally a tiny flicker that I can only feel when I'm sitting still. Have felt it on and off for the last week or so but have not been sure if it is baby or too many mince pies!

lol - that's what mine was first like - like the feeling u get when u have a rush of blood to ur eye and it flickers - except it was in the tummy! mine was when sitting down as well - my vote - more time on MN sitting down = more kicks! lol.

I had tiny little flutters around the time I went oon holiday in October, so about 4.5-5 months.

I got little"butterfl-like" feeling from about 16-18 weeks. The first kick or punch was at about 23/23 weeks. It was when my grandpa passed away. It was as if he had told the baby, "I have gone now, but tell your mum she still has you"

I felt the first movement at 16wks. Can't remember when DH could first feel him but it was after the 20wk scan.

mine was about about 16 weeks too, but then didnt feel it again for a while. i was in bed watching tv when i felt her for the first time, made me jump though
