Is This SPD?

I'm 5 months pregnant with my 2nd baby and over the last week or two I'm finding it increasingly painful to stand and walk. The pain is across my lower back, lower abdomen and sort of inside at the top of my legs. It's really bad when I've been sat at my desk for a while and then get up. I am quite embarrassed by how much I'm hobbling around work. Does this sound like SPD or something?

Shameless bump and also to add that i should have titled the thread 'Does this sound like it could be SPD. I am obviously not expecting a definitive diagnosis. Grin

It sounds worth mentioning to Dr. Have you considered mctimoney chiropractic? It's really gentle for pregnancy and it could just be you're a bit wonky! sitting at your desk is a killer - keep moving around.

Quite possibly. Ask your MW to refer you to a physio - if you are a bit wonky Smile (as I was) they'll sort you out. I also recommend a gym ball - for both at your desk and instead of the sofa. And, of course, those all important pelvic floor exercises!
Good luck!

Could well be... I had what my mid wife said was SPD with ds2. I've read other posters here talk of feeling wonky, or can hear clicking in groin area but mine wasn't like that. But the midwife still said it was SPD. With me walking was ok but whenever I sat or lay still for a while when I then tried to move or get up it was agony. Turning over in bed was particularly hard, as I felt I had to sort of manually lift my legs to get them to move as it just too painful. Getting up from the sofa was very hard too, and sideways movements like crossing/uncrossing my legs were impossible. But for me walking was ok. I think there maybe different types of SPD - but I'm not sure - maybe my midwife was wrong!

Thanks peeps, I'll get to the docs or mw and se what they say. The only problem is that it's a 40 minute walk away! Thanks for replies.
