Very faint blue + line (am I PG?)

Hi guys,

I am new to this site, but really need some advice, I am aprox 4 days late and took a PG test today at around 10.30 in the loo at work as I have been having slight cramps and tender boobs (not to the touch but its a tinggerly feeling once in a while). I do feel very bloted and heavy so I thought lets give it a go. My BF and I have been trying for a baby for 3 years after we found out I had PCOS, and havnt had any joy. Well when I looked at the clear blue test the line going across was very very dark but the line going down was extremly faint where you really really need to look. Has anyone else had this - I really hope I am PG but i'm scared its a dud test, I'm only 26 and feel like this will never happen for us. "am i pregnant of not"? (I'm even too scared to tell my BF just in case I'm wrong).

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hiya,

I hope its good news for you. If I was you I would leave it a day or two then do another test, I know its hard to wait but its very very difficult to say 'yes' from here...

AliceLost · 15/11/2011 14:25

A late period and a positive (albeit faint) line.

I reckon so.

Congratulations Grin

False negatives can happen, but you can really have a false positive.

It is super early though, give it a few days and then test again.

Good luck.

GobblersKnob · 15/11/2011 14:29

can't really have a false positive.

Thank you for all your advice guys, - I will take another test in a few days, I just don't want to get my hopes up for another let down. :(

Late periods come with having PCOS, so I don't really jump for joy when it dosnt show unfortunatly - but I do have one evry month roughly around the same time, so fingers crossed!. :)

Fingers crossed for you. Hope you get the result you wantSmile

horseynewmum · 15/11/2011 15:41

My 2nd test was as you described and i'm now 13wks preg. If you not sure wait a few more days and do another test so you can be a 100% sure

Nat6612 · 15/11/2011 15:52

Thanks horseynewmum - I think I will leave it a few more days, comforting to know you had the same kind of result. :)

Welcome to the club Smile

My faint line is now 4 years old! Grin

I had the same result 4 days after my period was due, it took a few more days after that to get a darker line!

Good luck x

ScrummyYummyMummy · 15/11/2011 19:04

I did numerous tests at the start which looked like this. After waiting around 5 days or so, I resorted to a digital test. Somehow the word 'pregnant' felt less questionable than the faint line. I also have PCOS and had similar symptoms. Now am 9 wks pregnant.

Wait a few days and try a digital.

Or do the usual mn thing and post a pic and let mn decide.
i hope it is for you

laughalot · 15/11/2011 19:08

Nat get the pregnant or not pregnant test then you will know for sure xx good luck

thedevilisinthedetail · 15/11/2011 19:13

Line was so faint on mine dh and I looked under every light going for ages and then went and bought another pack of tests...6 faint lines later I was convinced. Oh, and first test came back completely negative the day my period was due...these tests were 5 days later.

Good Luck!

Mum1369 · 15/11/2011 19:13

Oh go on, take a pic and post it..bit quiet on here tonight ; )

phlossie · 15/11/2011 20:44

Yup - really, really faint line here too... about 24 weeks ago, and the result is currently booting me in the cervix!

I found that the First Response tests were a bit more definite.

Fingers crossed for you.

lovingthecoast · 15/11/2011 20:49

I really hope it is positive for you but Clearblue are notorious for showing very quick evaporation lines which are also blue and therefore give off the impression of a positive result.
I would get a digital one or a first response one. No problems with false positives on either that I have ever heard of.

Good luck and fingers crossed.
