Am I Pregnant?

Ho Girls.

I am new to this forum and did not know where to post. I hope you can help me.

I started my last period on the 23rd/24th October. I had unprotected sex on the 3rd/4th November. Less than a week later I started getting very sore nipples. This happened me very early on when I was pregnant on dd1. Also when I squeeze them there is a clear discharge.

Today, estimated cd 23 I have had a very light red bleed, so light no need for tampon. I also have sligh cramps. My period is not due until the 24th november. My periods are never irregular and I get savage cramps and very heavy bleeding on day 1.
Could I be pregnant and when can I test.

I was just like you with this LO have you been feeling tired as that was a dead give away I was told. I'm not sure about the tests as I was 6 weeks gone before I even considered doing one. Go and see the Dr although you do need high HCG levels for them to detect a pregnancy. actually thinking about it my DP and I went to A&E a week earlier as we thought I had meningitus (sp) and they did a test and nothing. I'd say see Dr.

From the dates you would have had sex around day 12/13 of your cycle, however if your period is due on 24th Nov this would give you a usual cycle length of 32 days?

Most people ovulate 14 days before their period starts (plus or minus a day or two) so that would mean you would normally ovulate around day 18 of your cycle. Sperm can live up to five days as far as I remember, so you could just about be in the window for conception. It takes 6-10 days for the egg to implant, so on CD23 it's feasibly an implantation bleed, although if you ovulated on CD 18 give or take a day or two it would be quite an early one.

I've never heard of the clear discharge from nipples, new one on me!

So yes, in my view you could certainly be pregnant, but rogue spotting also does happen even in people with clockwork periods now and then. When you can test depends on when you think you ovulated and your normal cycle length. They usually say the day of your missed period which in your case would be 24th November? The reason for this is to allow 14 days from conception to testing, by which point the egg should have implanted and producing enough HCG to make a test respond.

Does that help at all??

I hope you get the result you want!

You can take a test now.

Thanks girls for the replies. If I am pregnant I conceived, in the general sense, on my 40th birthday so it will be a huge surprise. Would a pregnancy test really work now? Should I be worried about the bleeding? Barely there and only on wiping. Sorry for tmi.

My bad, it actually says you should wait until your period is due, however you can take one, but it may give you a false negative. www.babycenter.ca/preconception/activelytrying/howsoontestexpert/

Personally I'd probably take one anyway, or go see a doctor.

There is always that chance with unprotected sex. Although I can't help u with the bleeding, could may well be implantation bleeding but I have no experience of this, both my pregnancies, I've never had implantation bleeding. Although the cramps to me was a major give away. I had slightly sore nipples, but never leaked until baby was due. My main sign was lower bk ache. A test wud be unlikely to pick anything up yet. I tried..allll failed till I was 5 weeks with this one and 4 weeks with DS1. Everyones different tho so there is that chance u might get a positive. Good luck! I hope you get the outcome your wishing for :)
