U/S scan at 7 weeks. What to expect?

I'm having a scan tomorrow, having spent half of friday in A&E following severe pain. I'll be 7.3 weeks.

Is it likely to be a transvaginal scan or 'normal' one. I had enough poking about on Friday! If the news is good, ie not ectopic or just gone, what are we likely to see at this stage? Definitely a heartbeat or still maybe not?

Have not had the pain over the weekend, so hoping all is well.

I had the same symptoms as you and received an ultrasound scan the next day. I was 6+3weeks and could see the 'baby' and his little heart beating, the sac surrounding him too. All was fine and midwife put the pain down to uterus growing and a bit of paranoia. I'm now 9 weeks and glad to say the pain stopped a couple days later. It could also be ectopic, but they would have done an emergency scan if they thought this, cysts, which I had with my previous pregnancy.

Thanks. It may well be paranoia as I had a miscarriage in June, but that was with lots of bleeding. GP wanted me scanned on Friday though, as she was concerned. Gynae at hospital seemed fairly optimistic after bloods and exam, so hoping!

We had a scan at 7 weeks 4 days and we saw the heartbeat, it was a normal scan although she did say to me that it could be vaginal if they struggled to get an image. The baby looked like a jelly bean, not like a baby at all, but it was reassuring to see and it put our mind at rest. Don't be alarmed if you don't see a heartbeat, sometimes dates can be slightly out and just a bit too early to see it. Good luck, fingers crossed for you

I had dildocam at 7 weeks with DD, and they found the heartbeat, other than that she looked like a small white blob inside a bigger black blob.

In a previous mmc pregnancy, where I was scanned at 10 weeks but the embryo perished at 7, it looked very similar, nothing like a baby, but no heartbeat obviously.
