22 wks pregnant, have constant UTI's, been told by GP not to use bubble bath but I AM DESPERATE FOR A RELAXING BATH - the shower just doesnt cut it sometimes!

Are there any "safe" alternatives?

How about putting nothing in the water but having some scented candles around to relax you?

Mandymoo · 02/01/2006 20:36

hadnt thought of that Zephyr! My skin just gets really dry though and bubbles are soooooooooooooo nice!!!! And they also hide my wobbly bits iykwim!

Will give it a go though!

4 drops of pure lavender oil and mandarin oil or neroli oil. these 3 oils are fine after 3mths.

Gloworm · 02/01/2006 20:38

or Jason shower gel/bath foam...no irritating ingredients. from health shop only, i think. great for baby too (when born!). the lavender one is really relaxing, and the rose is nice too.

Thanks Gloworm - will definitely pay a visit to the health shop!

Definitely just use oils. Almond oil maybe with a few drops of lavender.

Unfortunately I think you will have to forgo the actual bubbles - anyway you're pregnant you're allowed to have wobbly bits!

SoupDragon · 02/01/2006 21:04

Baby oil is fab in the bath for dry skin. Doesn't hide the wobbly bits mind you...

vickiyumyum · 02/01/2006 21:06

what about a kids sensitive skin bubble bath, such as the e45 or infaderm range?

slinkstah · 02/01/2006 23:43

Try apple cider vinegar in the bath its relaxing and detoxing and great for your skin, among loads of other good things- even dissolves excess fatty deposits under the skin
