I've signed. Seems unfair when adoption leave exists!

I'm confused. I thought that parents who had a baby via surrogate would legally adopt the baby? So can they not get the maternity rights that way? Or is it more complicated than that (I'm assuming so!)

I'm not sure about whether she could have adopted her baby..... I just know that she doesn't get any maternity leave. Her job have said they'll hold it open for a year but they don't have to as she has no rights.
