can I change my due date?

I had my dating scan a couple of weeks ago and the sonographer estimated the conception date as 2nd of August. Completely impossible since I started my period on 3rd August. I am pretty certain that actual conception date was 14th of August! Does anyone have any experience of trying to get their due date changed if its clearly wrong?

I have 2 DCs already and went 12 days overdue with both of them, and thankfully didn't need to be induced. I'm worried that I'll be over again and don't want to be fighting off the midwives trying to force me into an induction. I know they won't listen to me once I hit 14 days past their incorrect due date.

I felt a lot of pressure with both my DCs to set an induction date and I really don't want this. Even if they put it out by one week I would be happier. What do you think my chances are??

They changed my date at my 20 week scan i knew that my week would begin a wed they said a thursday but at 20 weeks they changed it back to wed so maybe wait until then and ask them to check. I think they would always go by the scan not what you say incase someone has there dates mixed up.

I had mine changed (put back by a week) but I was under care of a senior consultant and we were planning C section. and I had a fair amounnt of reliable data to back up my case

If you hold your notes, there's nothing to stop you correcting the date yourself. Initial it if you like, or don't (if you don't, HCPs will assume another HCP did it - it doesn't seem to occur to them that patients might take charge). I did, partly to avoid pressure for an unnecessary induction (though you can decline that too - you don't need permission). BUT early dating scans are usually pretty reliable, so if I were you I would want to be absolutely certain the scan was wrong. In my case, DH had been away for a fortnight when I was alleged to have conceived and my first scan was at 20 weeks, by which stage they're less exact.
