Hi Ladies
Just wanted to see if any one else has had this:

Been a great pregnancy overall, but went today for 37 week check and baby has grown from last week 35 cm - perfect she said , to this week 41 cm! To which she re measured about 6 times and she was so shocked.

This week I have really felt like i have tripled in weight and blown up in size, ankles and hands etc and she agreed i looked a lot bigger than last week and could be signs of pre eclampsia. [ soz cant spell it!]

Also she took my blood pressure which was high - usually it's perfect.

Tomz she's booked me in for tests at hospital, sat i have a blood pressure check and I am a little worried.

2 weeks ago babies heart beat was insane - but happy to say this week was fine, and just wondered if any one knows what may happen tomz? She said the head is ready nice and low, plus i am uncomfy and hurts and feels very tender down below, although it's my 1st, i wouldn't mind it being early. Any stories of encouragement?!! Thanks

Hi Acorn! First of all try not to worry sounds like your midwife is looking after you very well, I had Pre Eclampsia with my 1st (now exp my 4th!) and I spent about 4 weeks in hospital on and off towards the end of my pregnancy from about 34 weeks.

I got quite used to all the tests, which for me (it was 13 years ago!) involved lots of bloods being taken, regular checks on BP and I had a very glamorous container that was kept in the toilet with my name on that I had to collect all my pee in! (I had to wee in a disposable thing and pour it in Hmm) And lots of baby monitoring with a belt that tracks movement around your tummy and you have to press a button evertime you felt a kick! You can hear the heartbeat which is very comforting!

That was to test for Protien, did she mention if your sample was clear on todays visit?

For me it never actually developed into full blown pre eclampsia but I had to be induced at 40 weeks as they were not happy to let me continue as it was boderline.

From what I was advised if it had been any cause for concern they would have induced earlier, and as mine started at 34 weeks thats why I had to stay in to get as close to term as possible.

As you are considered 'term' they may depending on your results decide to bring you in for induction earlier, but as I sais things may be different now and I am sure some other MN's will have more recent experience.

Try and relax tonight, you wont do yourself or babyacorn and good if you work yourself up! Take something to read as you will no doubt be there all day.

Let us know how you get on, good luck Smile

Just re-read post the container wee collection was to test for protien NOT the baby monitor! Grin

Thanks Morethemerrier - went in today and came out 30 mins late.

Not quite sure how this works, but MW said baby has grown loads but is fine, it's normal to not be able to feel my legs and fingers, blood pressure although was higher, is fine and nothing worry about.

Sort of feel like my MW sent me to hospital for nothing, although i guess if we ddint have things checked out, it could be a different story! Just so bored now WE WANT BABY NOW!
