i have just found out i'm preganant, i reckon i'm about 2 weeks in, even tho gp said 4 (from last period).it's my first pg, i'm 32 and overweight. anyhow. i feel great, have no sickness. i had heartburn for about a week but it settled now. what i am a bit worried about is slight, period pain like cramp feeling around my left ovary. i read that period pain is quite normal in early pg, i'm just worried it's so localised.

A few cramps and twinges are perfectly normal and nothing to worry about, if it develops into a sharper pain and is persistent then go back to the doctors. But most of us will have had a few niggles and aches in the "area". If you are really worried then see the doctor anyway to put your mind at rest.

Congrats on your pregnancy :)

You have your booking visit next week? At 5 weeks?? Wow that's early!

aggie79 · 08/11/2011 19:12

i thought that as well, but when i went to book it, receptionist didnt ask me how far i was. gp told me to book it straight away so i did. do you think i should reschedule?

You count the weeks from the first day of your last period which sounds like it might have been four weeks ago so you would be four weeks pregnant. It's impossible to know you are pregnant 2 weeks in as thats around the time you ovulate so not really pregnant by then.

as we were trying for few months i have recorded every intercourse, that plus temp change led me to think it's 2 weeks. also clearblue said 1 - 2 weeks when i have done it at the weekend. but i know that for general use pg is counted from previous period

If you read the leaflet on clearblue it tells you how to translate the results into doctor speak, so 1-2 weeks from conception = 3-4 weeks pregnant. It really is better to stick to the traditional dating system or things will get very confusing!
