Just a quick question.. Is it normal to be completely exhausted at 16 weeks?I already have a DS1 and was never this tired. This pregnancy is very different. But wts gting to me lately is my tiredness. Its unbelievable. I'll go to sleep at 9pm, get up at 9am and struggle to stay awake and by time its midday I'm on sofa struggling to keep eyes open. Can't be normal. I have no energy or motivation to do anything.

I am knackered too. 18 weeks tomorrow. Can only manage 3 days a week of work and need to go to bed early too. I guess the baby does a lot of growing in the second trimester and that is a lot of work for your body to cope with. I wasn't all that mega tired in the first trimester and I had been looking forward to the so called blooming stage after 14 weeks when I would apparently have a lovely glow, plenty of energy and a good sex drive. No Such Luck!

Have you had your iron levels checked? That made a big difference to me when I thought I surely shouldn't be as tired as I was at about that stage.

(Typed from lying on the sofa but feeling justified at being knackered at 38 weeks)

Mine were fine at my booking blood test. I've been trying to get plenty of vitamin C too as someone told me this helps your body to absorb the iron. But hopefully they will check my levels again.
